WEB HOSTING
When we designed our hardware and software infrastructure we made sure from the very start to develop a redundant and scalable solution that would be able to cater to hundreds of thousands of websites and applications. To prevent any resources from interfering with one another, we separated all services (Web-, MySQL-, mail-, backup- and
and administration servers incl. spam and virus scanners) from our high-performance, self-developed webhosting platform. Thanks to this separation and the use of load-balancing systems for particularly load-critical services such as e-mail, the performance of our web servers is particularly high. Every year, we invest millions of francs into the expansion of our
web hosting platform and continue to develop our software in order to meet the ever-increasing demands of our customer base. All of our servers are located in the safest data center in Switzerland, at Interxion in Glattbrugg near Zurich. All customer data is stored redundantly in two independent locations each protected by physical firewalls. The illustration

SECURITY STANDARDS
The entire Hostpoint infrastructure is located at the Interxion Data Center in Glattbrugg near Zurich. All systems are set up redundantly in two independent locations each protected by physical firewalls. This high-security computer center offers a flexible and scalable foundation for the failsafe and cost-effective operation of our
information, communication and Internet infrastructure. Interxion is certified in accordance with the internationally recognized ISO 27001 standard for information security management systems and complies with the FINMA guidelines 99/2 for bank data centers.

SELF-ENGINEERED
SOFTWARE
Our self-engineered software controls all web hosting products. Thanks to the many years of experience of our development team and their extensive know-how, we are able to offer our customers state-of-the-art web hosting solutions. The Hostpoint Control Panel is a simple but powerful administration interface
to manage web hosting accounts. As we develop our software ourselves, we can include the valuable feedback from our customers in the software, and we can respond quickly if for some reason something is not working as it should. This also considerably reduces time needed to implement new features.
INTELLIGENT
LOAD BALANCING
On our high-performance web hosting platform, we have separated all services so that no resources interfere with the other. This means that web-, database, mail-, backup-, administration services and others do not have to share the same server or server
cluster. For very load-intensive services such as email, Open Xchange or Control Panel, we also use so-called load balancing systems to evenly distribute the workload.

PERFORMANCE
The separation of all services and the use of load-balancing systems for particularly load-critical services optimizes and maximizes the performance of our web hosting platform. We have also developed some other in-house applications that accelerate
significant applications such as PHP and MySQL.
DATA SECURITY AND
FAILURE SECURITY
Our storage cluster solution consists of independent clusters connected via a fast internal network to all web-, mail- and administration servers. The clusters store all customer data in external disk arrays and mirror this data simultaneously to another room (firewall protected). The disk arrays
have also been set up redundantly so that data can never be lost – even if individual disks or an entire disk array should happen to fail. This guarantees the high-possible degree of data and failure security.

ALWAYS
ONLINE
Hostpoint operates its own network. During the establishment of our network, we mainly focused on its redundancy, stability and speed. The network is connected with the Internet via two high-performance Cisco routers, each with a connection to two separate carriers and peering partners. This structure is known as
“multihoming”. Even if one router should happen to fail, the Hostpoint network can still be reached via the second router without any interruption whatsoever. Should the connection to one of the carriers fail, both routers can be rerouted to the other carrier.
